In order to avoid having to pay for up to 300 feet of line, the authority approved a new policy saying, “The landowner is responsible for the installation and costs of all tanks, pumps, and lines to within 10 feet of the tap site designated by the authority.”
The landowner is also responsible for inspection costs and related fees, Mr. Swindler said.
“We thought it was fairest to make it a pay-as-you-go procedure,” he said.
There will also be a $200 tap fee whenever it is necessary to provide a new tap into the pressure line, he said.
