A contest to design a county seal is being sponsored by the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors.
Rappahannock has no official seal and has in the past been using the seal of Virginia. The use of the Virginia seal on police vehicles, letterhead and business cards has led to confusion in the past.
“With a distinct seal that should be cleared up,” according to County Administrator John McCarthy.
The contest is open to all Rappahannock County residents and all entries must be submitted by June 28 to the County Administrator’s Office. Submissons should represent the traditions and the history of the county while following the rules of heraldic conventions.
