Rappahannock High School senior Douglas Kilpatrick will receive a National Merit Scholarship from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., the scholarship corporation announced Wednesday.

the $40,900 bid from Eco-Vault for a replacement for the underground fuel oil storage tank at the elementary school. Dr. Gangel will negotiate a lease-purchase system for the vault, storage tank, pump, and fencing. Under the contract the school system will make payments for the above ground vault for five years, and after that the vault will belong to the school system.
The board also voted to appoint Deborah Flinchum to a first grade teaching position and approved a list of classified employees for next year.
