The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors is sponsoring a contest, open to all residents of Rappahannock County, to design a County Seal. Submissions should attempt to be expressive of the County's history, traditions, and aspirations, and should have devices and motifs consistent with heraldic conventions. The seal selected would be used on stationery, business cards, flags, vehicles, etc., as appropriate. Contestants are invited to submit camera-ready designs by June 28, 1991, to the Rappahannock County Administrator's Office at the Old Extension Office in Washington, for consideration by the Board of Supervisors at their meeting on Monday, July 1. Depending on the number of submissions, the Board will select the three most appropriate, and present them for public inspection throughout the month of July. Then, at the August 5 Board of Supervisors meeting, a public hearing will be held on the three submissions and the Board will select that one which shall serve as the Seal of Rappahannock County. All submissions shall become the property of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors.
