Edwina Harding
Mrs. Edwina Emma Harding of Purcellville, formerly of Amiss ville, died Saturday, May 18 at Winchester Medical Center.
A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Russell M. and Emma Lee Brady Hitt and the widow of William Randolph Harding.
She is survived by a nephew, Russell A. Hitt of Arlington; and several cousins.
A funeral was held Tuesday, May 21 at Amissville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peter Weems officiating. Interment was in the Hitt family graveyard at Amissville.
Pallbearers were Eddie Hitt, Neil Weibel, Francis Hodgson, Joe Wines, Danny Payne arid Lewis Judd.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Ruth Lillard
Mrs. Ruth Petty Lillard, 94, of Boston, died Saturday, May 18 at her residence.
Mrs. Lillard was bom Dec. 24, 1895 in Culpeper County to the late Mark Reid and Eliza Smith Petty.
She was the widow of the late Harry Clifford Lillard.
Mrs. Lillard was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Church.
She is survived by a son, Reid Clifford Lillard of Boston; two daughters, Hazel L. Hawkins of Boston and Hilda L. Marshall of Front Royal; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carroll H. Petty of Front Royal.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 20 in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Floyd T. Binns officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad.
