Athletes and non-athletes alike will have an opportunity to join forces in a special way — to walk for the animals. >
The fifth annual “Walk for the Animals,” to benefit the Fauquier County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, is slated for 3 p.m. June 1. (The raindate is set for Saturday, June 8).
The five-mile trek, beginning at the shelter on Route 602 south of Warrenton, will take walkers through the nooks and crannies of historic Casanova.
According to Pia Parker of the Fauquier SPCA, money raised from the event will benefit the animal welfare programs such as the emergency relief fund and the humane education fund.
