It was a hard fought game, but one goal made all the difference in Tuesday’s game against Clarke County.
Freshman varsity soccer player, Huck Pace scored the first goal of his career Tuesday night winning the game for the Panthers 1-0.'
“What a great goal,” said Varsity Head Soccer Coach Shay Bell. “Huck has worked hard all season, and this goal was a great reward for that.”
The Panthers controlled the ball for the majority of the game, leaving Clarke County scrambling on the defensive. Speed and endurance was a big factor as the Panther’s forwards and center fielders pressed on, hungry for their first goal of the game. “We exhibited a lot of talent,” Bell said, “but we still have to work hard. . .we’re not cruising through.”
Rice’s goal was scored in the second half. Rappahannock’s strong defense proved valuable, throughout the game as Davy Torrence stepped back to assist. Ame-Utne remained in the net as keeper, blocking any Clarke
