for 2007, was established anonymously in memory of someone who thought education was extremely important for everyone. Having struggled to pay his own way through university, he wanted others to have an easier time of getting an education. As with all the new funds, the RPM awards give preference to those with the greatest financial need who are the first in their families to attend college, and are renewable for up to three subsequent years of undergraduate study (provided the student maintains good academic standing).
The Elizabeth Biggs Scholarship Fund, now in its second year, honors the late Elizabeth Proctor Biggs, a schoolteacher for thirty years who strongly believed that each person was a unique individual, that every one and every thing had some good in them, and that goodness could be uncovered, nurtured, and put to use to pass on to others. She understood and nurtured a special bond between herself and children that enriched both child and adult.
