team or not. Following the Survivor’s Walk, Caretakers (those who have taken care of relatives and friends who have had cancer) will walk around the track. Then those young people attending will be asked to walk around the track. There are two teams of band members, a team of cheerleaders, the Rappahannock Leos, and other young people attending this year’s Relay.
Following these laps, walkers from all of the teams will continue the Relay throughout the night while other team members enjoy the activities, or sleep, or rest at their campsites. Some of the activities include:
• A fabulous picnic beginning around 5:30 or 6 p.m.— since food is a must for all Rappahannock events;
• Various Rappahannock notables appearing throughout the evening;
• An education tent to provide information about fighting and detecting cancer;
• The lighting of the luminaries at dark around 9 p.m. in honor or memory of both cancer victims and cancer survivors;
• A disc jockey and clown:
• Pizza madness at 11 p.m. where pizza will be served to all the teams;
