• Diana Gillam who fell' when in contention at the last with 2005 champion Bubble Economy, said her horse just “didn’t seem himself. Maybe it was the footing” which was slightly rain-slickened from race-day rains. “I’d set him up for a spot (to the big, 4-foot high fences) and he’d slip. Just a little, but it was enough to matter.” The horse was uninjured in the fall; Gillam separated her shoulder but should be back riding by summer ‘chasing.
