Thanks to Richie Burke and the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department, the last piece of equipment, a winch % with 12,000 lb. carrying capacity, is now available to remove the hulk from the Thornton River, next to the rescue squad. Thanks to Hunt Harris for organizing this effort (987-3366). As we go to press, this will all happen on Mother’s Day. Mother’s , thank you for the sons and daughters that you have given to us, who will provide this service to the community.

Belated birthday wishes go out to Jim Peyton of Clover Rock Road who celebrated another year on Thursday and cousin Margie Jenkins who added another year Saturday, May 5.
We extend best wishes to those who have birthdays coming up this week, including Rose Smith, Nina Peyton, Aileen Pettit, Hallie Hammond, H. C. Racey, Jonathan Norman and Jeremiah Frazier and may our Lord grant each of you many more days to celebrate.
