1922 to the late William Arnold Dodson and Monia Olivia Berry Dodson.
Mr. Dodson was a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II under Gen. George Patton. He retired from Avtex after 35 years of working as a machinist. He enjoyed watching baseball and football but above all spending time with his family.
He is survived by two children, Janice Carwile and her husband, Wayne of Culpeper, and C.E. Dodson and his wife, Linda of Sperryville, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, and one great -greatgrandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Cleo Clater Dodson who passed away May 25, 2006, three brothers, Archie, Jim and Wilson Dodson, and two sisters, Viola Brown and Mary Bowling.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 5, at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, Sperryville, with Rev. Jon Heddleston officiating. Interment was followed in Sperryville Cemetery.
