May 18: “Notes On A Scandal”
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) will sponsor the film, “Notes On A Scandal” on Friday, May 18 at 8 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street, Washington. Adults $6^ students $4, children $3.
May 18-20: Art in the Foothills
A juried show and sale featuring 59 area artists working in a variety of media will be held in the Old Dance Hall in historic Bluemont, Va on May 18 to May 20. A welcoming reception will be held Saturday May 19, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Live music will be performed by Butch Nielson, Drew Holland and Jerry Bresee during the reception. Friends of Bluemont, a non-profit preservation organization, is hosting this fourth annual exhibit. Walk over to the recently renovated Bluemont General Store. The Dance Hall is located at 33735 Snickersville Pike, Bluemont. Admission is free. Shenandoah National Park is recruiting volunteers to help control exotic plants at Big Meadows.The public is invited to join in a weekend of learning and participation in the identification and control of invasive exotic plants.

Coffee: Mosby owned the night
On Saturday, May 19, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. the Gray Ghost Interpretive Group will present its Cavaliers, Courage and Coffee: Mosby Owned the Night program at the Rector House in Atoka (4 miles west of Middleburg on Fit. 50). The group is returning from its successful engagement at Brentmoor, the home of Col. John S. Mosby in Warrenton in April. Stories about life in the Mosby Heritage Area during the Civil War are told by costumed interpreters by lantern light at venues throughout the village of Atoka.
