have shrugged it off and moved on, and most are somewhere in between. The good news is that most people found that once they started at a school, they loved where they ended up and wouldn’t change schools for anything. I spoke with all of last year’s seniors, and all but one thanked their lucky stars that they ended up where they were. The one that hated his school, transferred.
Sixth, parents, please try not to let your disappointment add to your child’s woes. It may be time to think up and accept a Plan B. It helps to celebrate the schools that had the good sense to accept your child. Community College is a great option for many families, and a way to get the general education classes out of the way at a fraction of the price.
Lastly, and most importantly, there is no correlation between where someone went to college and his or her success in life. Success in life is determined by other factors — character, work-ethic, sense of humor - things that no one applies for, things that no committee can accept or wait list or reject.
