The two citizens who stood . up were split in their support for the amendment.
“I appreciate everything you can do to accommodate [McCue’s] needs and keep him in the county,” said Town of Washington resident Gary Schwartz, who is also chairman of the Town Planning Commission. “We have him here, let’s keep him here.”
Sperryville resident and former County Planning Commission Chairman Tom Junk encouraged the board not to pass the amendment.
“I think Dr. McCue’s a wonderful person, but what you’re doing is changing the ordinance to fit one person and this ordinance wasn’t designed for that,” Junk said. “I’d be careful about changing the ordinance for one person.”
The zoning amendment immediately allows McCue to start operating his practice with more-employees.
