WSaxQ receives plaudits for its concerts from far and near “an outstanding performance,” wrote the (China) People’s Daily; while the Washington Post praised their “excellent playing*. The Belgian Ambassador, Andre Adam, found the Quartet’s music “delightful and most enjoyable” and commented that they “showed the astonishing range of sounds and moods of which the saxophone is capable.”
The Quartet comprises Reginald Jackson, soprano sax; James Steele, alto sax; Rich Kleinfeldt, tenor sax; and Rick Parrell, baritone sax. Rich Kleinfeldt is also a broadcaster, presenting classical music daily to an international audience. He explains that he “believels] deeply that music transports us to someplace else, but the beauty is, it takes us to a place of our own choosing. That’s the joy of playing and listening to music. So enjoy the ‘trip’ with our sax quartet.”
Tickets for the concert at the Theatre on Saturday, May 19, at 8 p.m. are $20 for adults and $5 for students 18 and under.
