Rappahannock News Staff Writer

A familiar face has risen in the ranks of the athletic department to serve as the new athletic director for the Rappahannock County Public Schools.

Current head basketball coach and math teacher Bob Czekaj was approved for the job by the Rappahannock School Board on Tuesday. Czekaj is also a member of the Rappahannock County School Sports Association. (RCSSA)

Czekaj’s position will entail additional duties as the school budget tightens up. Czekaj said that he will remain the Varsity High School Basketball coach as well as teach a few math classes. Czekaj said that he is pleased with the role that he will be assuming within the schools. “I definitely wanted the athletic director job but I didn’t want to quit teaching either,” he said.
