The six-month zoning struggle between Dr. John McCue and some of his neighbors ended quickly and quietly Monday evening at the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors’ monthly meeting.
McCue’s Mountainside Medicine has been operating with half its normal staff since the doctor was notified in November that his specialexception permit allows him to have no more than three employees.
In an attempt to increase staff numbers for the growing medical practice, McCue applied in February to have the agriculturally zoned lot rezoned to commercial. That move was opposed by neighboring property owner Mike Brown Sr. and his attorney David Konick, who listed several reasons why the 2.15-acre lot was unfit for commercial zoning.
