The one constant: insurance fraud affects us all. It adds as much as $1,000 to the costs of goods and services paid by each household in Virginia each year; It increases the premiums we pay by $200 to $1,000 per year.
Since 1999, the Virginia State Police, through its Insurance Fraud Program, has been working hard to “Stamp Out Fraud.” And the effort is paying off.
Convictions for insurance fraud and related crimes in Virginia are on the rise. There were 151 • convictions in 2006.
