May 16-19: Sperryville Volunteer
Fire Department Carnival
From May 16-19 the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will have their carnival. Each night offers something slightly different for your enjoyment. On Wednesday, May 16, is Kid's night, for a fixed rate, children can ride all night On Thursday, May 17, you can enjoy live music by the Adorations, while you eat dinner by the famous Fire Department Auxiliary chicken Box Supper with potato salad, baked beans and a roll. Friday, May 18, you can enjoy the annual parade that begins at 7 p.m. on Route 522 near the Sperryville Cemetery, continues along Main Street and proceeds to the Fire Hall on U.S. 211. The final night, Saturday, May 19, the Queen will be crowned and the grand prize drawings will be announced. Be sure to buy lots of tickets because the grand prize is $1000, second place is $500 and third place is $250. Most of all your attendance at the carnival is testimony to your support for all those who volunteer their time and energy all year long to provide high quality services to the community. So put these four nights on your calendar now and show your support for the men and women who protect us 365 days and nights a year.

May 16: Stress Relief and
Healing Energy Session
On Wednesday, May 16, at 7:15 p.m., a Stress Relief and Healing Energy Session will be held at Hearthstone School, 11576 Lee Highway in Sperryville, Virginia. Homa Technicians Abel Hernandez and Aleta Macan will explain and demonstrate Homa Therapy techniques which have been used successfully in hospitals, clinics, and by private physicians in Latin America, and by individuals around the world.
