Robin Lynn Ricker of Huntly and William Gayton Dennis, Jr. of Jackson, S. C., were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, September 4, at 1 p.m. in Willis Chapel United Methodist Church in Huntly.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Rebecca Ricker of Huntly and Lawrence A. Ricker, Sr. of Stephens City. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Dennis, Sr. of Jackson, S. C.

The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Merlin Shrob in a setting of lighted candelabra and arrangements of gladioli, daisies, and ivy.

Traditional and contemporary music was presented by Carol Atkins of Flint Hill.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal length gown of chantilly lace over acetate. The peaked sleeves of sheer organza were delicately enhanced with matching Chantilly lace. The bodice of her gown featured a Queen Anne neckline accented with opal escent sequins and seed pearls. The full skirt fell from a slightly raised waistline to a full flounced chapel length train.

Her picture hat complemented her gown with matching chantilly lace and a fingertip veil of illusion. She carried a cascade of all white miniature carnations, miniature rose buds, daisies, baby’s breath, ivy, and lace ribbons.

Mrs. Deborah Cahill of Front Royal, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Deborah Dennis of Huntly, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Dianne Ricker of Chester Gap, sisterin-law of the bride, Ms. Vicki West of Falls Church, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids.

William C. Dennis, Sr. served as best man for his son. Groomsmen were Bobby Chapman, Jr. of Jackson, S.C.; Robert Cahill of Front Royal; and Lawrence A. Ricker, Jr. of Richmond, brother of the bride.

Coordinator of the wedding was Ms. Virginia Biggs of Warrenton, cousin of the bridegroom.

A reception was held after the ceremony at the Chester Gap Fire Hall. Serving the bride’s wedding cake was Mrs. Sharon Ricker of Richmond, sister-in-law of the bride. Serving the bridegroom’s wedding cake was Mrs. Valerie Chapman of Jackson, S. C. Miss Bonnie Williams of Chester Gap and Miss Lisa Cameron of Huntly served the punch.
