revised cost projections put monthly user fees at S55, considered much too high for Sperryville’s low and moderate income families to afford.
The redesign, an innovative scntic tank effluent pump S) > :m and package treatment plant, will have monthly user fees of approximately $12. The estimate on monthly bills is based upon award of the block grant and receipt of the $1.2 million from the State W ater Control Board.
Announcement of the block grant awards is expected to come in early November.
The question of right-ofway access to the site of the package treatment plant was tabled until the WSA learns the fate of its block grant application. “If we don’t get the money, we won’t need the right-of-way,” James Leake noted.
“And if we don’t get the grant, it won't be because we haven’t made an effort,” added Johnson, noting the hours and hours of work that WSA members have devoted to working on the grant application with John Capelle, executive director of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission.
Dorrier

Lindsay Dorrier, candidate for the 7th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, will be at Beach Spring Farm in Sperryville on October 1 to meet Rappahannock voters.
Dorrier is running against six term incumbent, Republican J. Kenneth Kooinson.
