Montpelier race meet was held. As to the free admission at the races, this is Mrs. Scott’s attractive way of acknowledging her appreciation for her neighbors and friends, and to steeplechase fans in general. Driving south from Orange on the road to Charlottesville (Virginia Route 20), visitors will find Montpelier on the left, approximately five miles out of Orange. Montpelier’s gate posts are decorated with large replicas of eagles with outstretched wings.
