Mrs. Addie Lee Chapman of Richmond, wife of David Chapman Jr. died Wednesday, September 8, 1982.
Mrs. Chapman was bom in Limeton, Warren County, the daughter of the late W. Ernest and Alice Rudacille Jones.
Mrs. Chapman was educated in the Front Royal public school system and received her teaching certificate from Harrisonburg Teachers College (now James Madison University).
She taught at Sperryville High School during the mid 1920’s, where she continued to reside after her marriage. She moved to Goochland County where she taught in the local high school and later to the Richmond area with her husband in 1944.
Mrs. Chapman was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she served in numerous capacities.
Besides her husband, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Betty Jane Lewis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, David Chapman III of Richmond; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Agne* Forbes and Miss Ernestine Jones and a brother, Pau Jones, all of Front Royal.
Funeral services w;re held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Richmond on Friday, September 10 with burial at the Westhampton Memorial Park.
