Dr. D. C. Jarvis, the famous “Vermont Country Doctor”, recommended that his patients chew honeycomb cappings once a day for a month before the ragweed season.

In mild cases. Jarvis suggested that hay fever be treated by chewing honeycomb once a day on Monday. Wednesday and Friday. In extreme cases, he prescribed chewing honeycomb five times a day, starting as long as three months before the season. Jarvis said he observed that as long as farmers followed these precautions, they could even cut ragweed without irritation.
