EMHS goalie put on an impressive imitation of a basketball center, leaping a couple of feet into the air to grab the ball before it could bounce into the net.
In the second half, EMHS’s depth took its toll on Rappahannock. Coach Glenn Davis had just two substitutes he could send in to give his Panthers a breather in the hot, 80degree-plus sunshine while the Harrisonburg team had an entire 11-man squad waiting on the bench. Substituting freely, the EMHS coach kept an almost fresh unit in the entire game.
As Rappahannock's players began to tire, the Harrisonburg squad went on a scoring binge, booting balls into the net from the corner, from the sides and straight on from the front to skunk the Panthers with five more tallies.
