Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Abbott, new residents of Rappahannock County have joined the household of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Mank.
Darlene Moore of Flint Hill, Marsha Thompson of Sperryville and Margie Righter, the staff at the Beauty Box, attended the Bruton and Company Hair Styling show in Charlottesville last Sunday.
Mrs. Lyman W. Jacobsen of Williamsburg, Miss Judith Jacobsen and Joseph Rosenthal, both of Washington, D. C. were Sunday luncheon guests of Mrs. Henry M. Keyser.
Mrs. Arthur Vaughan of Fredericksburg, Mrs. William Bennett of Alexandria and Cletus Burke of Front Royal were luncheon guests Monday of Mrs. Charles C. Burke. A family reunion was held on Saturday at the Burke home with approximately 30 attending.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schaefer of Sperryville were Friday evening guests of Miss Annie Miller Almond. Miss Libby Snead visited on Saturday and Sunday afternoon callers were Mrs. Christine Johnston of Sperryville and Miss Mary Miller Wood.
Joseph B. Reid of McLean was a Sunday guest of Mrs. Alice R. Wood and Ms. Frances Conover and daughters.

Keesey Attends
Aging Meeting
Truman Keesey of Washington, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Committee on the Aging, was in Virginia Beach recently to hear a former Commissioner of Social Security tell the quarterly session of the Advisory Committee that the social security system is not going broke.;
Keesey reports that according to William Driver, who was also a former director of the Veterans Administration, funds will be available for social security until the year 2020.
Driver presented a 14point program to protect social security which called in part for borrowing from health insurance to meet the short term crunch, reallocating social security taxes, borrowing from the Treasury, removing social security from the unified budget, providing general revenue Rinds for part of Medicare, recrediting outstanding checks, adding public members to the board of trustees that administers social security trust funds and appointing a bipartisan board to run social security.
Driver, now executive director of a 45 million member national coalition on “Save Our Security,” was elected president of the Governor’s Advisory Committee on the Aging for a two year term.
