the occasion, W. N. Squire, Dowty Group Director and Managing Director of the Aerospace and Defense Division, participated in special activities, at the Sterling location. The highlight was his presentation of 25-year service awards to Howard G. Bird, company president; Rennison A. Maby, vice president, commercial department; and Ray Ashley, warehouse manager. Each has been with the company since it was established in 1957. The Dowty Rotol Incorporated facility is designed expressly for the repair and overhaul of propellers, landing gears, flight controls, and a wide range of mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
More than two years ago Dowty Rotol Inc. became the assembly, test and dispatch base for the new ARA-D range of Dowty Rotol propellers currently fitted to the Gulfstream American 840/980/900/1000 series and the Fairchild Swearingen Metro,III and Merlin IVC Aircraft.
The ARA-D propeller will eventually be fitted to the Jetstream 31, Piper Cheyenne IV, the SAAB-Fairchild SF-340 and the Embraer Xingu Aircraft. To ensure immediate and continuing technical support to operators of Dowty equipment, or other equipment handled by Dowty Rotol Inc., a staff of technical representatives is available to provide “on-site” operator assistance.
