Lunch Program Popular

Chappell reported that more students were using the cafeteria than in the past. Reeve suggested that if the high participation in the school lunch program continues, the board might be able to lower lunch prices. All agreed that this was a good idea.

In other business, the board:

Heard a report from Pam Rowe, special services coordinator, on the progress of the Title I program at the school;

Discussed the possiblity of an open house, attended by board members, possibly in conjunction with a PTA meeting;

Agreed to schedule time for discussion of the “index salary concept’’ at the November meeting, with the possibility of a special meeting devoted to its consideration;

Postponed discussion of the policy manual;

Approved minutes from four previous meetings;
