Fauquier County School Board member Paul Asciolla on Monday declared himself a Democratic candidate for the House of Delegates in the 31 st District.
At a brief press conference in front of the county courthouse, Asciolla marketed himself as a moderate centrist, while classifying current GOP incumbent Jay Katzen (R31st) as being “on the fringe.”
“We need somebody in Richmond who’s more than a backslapper and a smiler,” Asciolla said in an interview later.
