Billy Barton — in 1926 became the only horse ever to win the Gold Cup and Hunt Cup in the same year on successive weekends.
Lancrel — Gold Cup in 1954 and Hunt Cup in 1955
Tong — Gold Cup in 1980 and Hunt Cup in 1982 (both ridden by Turney McKnight)
Sugar Bee — Gold Cup in 1986 and Hunt Cup in 1987 (both ridden by Charlie Fenwick). The only Virginia horse ever to win both of these races.
