Marquis Rankin
Marquis Marion Rankin, 79, of Culpeper, died on Wednesday, April 23, at Culpeper Health Care Center.
He was bom June 5, 1917, in Culpeper, to the late Rashliegh Maynard and Sadie Columbus Jeffries Rankin.
Mr. Rankin was a member of the Culpeper Presbyterian Church, a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #2524, and was a member of the Eastern Star #79.
He was Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 7th Masonic District of the Mason Lodge Royal Arch Chapter.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, <Bertha K. Rankin; two daughters, Virginia Rankin Lollar of AlphaRetta, Ga. and Jacqueline Rankin Ay lor of Dundee, Ore. and two sons, Fred Marquis Rankin of Slate Mills and Walter Randolph Rankin of Cumming, Ga.
He is also survived by three brothers, V.J. Rankin of Culpeper, Ivan M. Rankin of Winchester and Kenneth R. Rankin of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Additional survivors include four grandchildren. Dawn Lollar, Andrew Aylor and Mandy and Marq Rankin.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John (Jack) Rankin.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 26 at Found & Sons Chapel with Dr. R. Wayne Bernardo officiating.
Interment followed in the Culpeper Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Hill, William Motter, Jim Jessup, Henry Jenkins, Steve Hicks and Vincent Beasley.
