They met last week with the BOS to request funds to replace the roof based on their findings. Since all major roof repair is done in the summer when school is not in session, they had to move quickly if they hoped to get the roof done this summer.
Ramcorp provided three alternatives for replacement and repair. The first was for a shingle roof system on a sloped wood truss roof structure. The second for a metal roof system on a sloped roof structure and the third for a metal roof system on a sloped steel truss roof structure.
The alternatives would cost $145,400, $187,600 and $206,400 respectively. After considering these, they felt alternative one, a shingle roof, system with a sloped wood truss, would be the most cost effective.
