in memory of Paul Nichols, a longtime school board-member, volunteer, and a person very close to Dr. Tole and his family. He related several stories about Mr. Nichols, especially about his sense of humor.
Before singing the song about his mother, Dr. Tole said that what she loved the most was working with kids in Patty Hottinger’s and Mary Horvath’s classes. He read a letter that the kids had written to him following his mother’s death, and there was probably not a dry eye in the room. He said he will cherish this letter all his life.
He then sang a song he had written for his mother’s 80th birthday, incorporating words to show his mother’s love of nature.
