On Saturday, April 19, Lee and Diana Bird of Washington, Va., received a Lifetime Achievement Award at thtf 10th District Democratic Convention held in Loudoun County.
Bill Dolan, Democratic candidate for Attorney General, presented the Birds with a plaque for “their years of service to Democrats.”
“They are, both individually and as a couple, the true hierarchy of our Democratic community,” said Dolan in his remarks to the assembled group. Dolan described Lee as having a “calm dignity that has always had a soothing effect on the most passionate and heated partisan...” and stated that “Diana’s political savvy assesses and solves political challenges.”
A standing ovation from the Convention greeted the Birds as they received the award.
