The display is the result of an ad hoc committee composed of Mr. Shaffer, Bill Young, Don Audette, Hunt Harris, Mea Arego of Shenandoah National Park, and Mary Bittinger. A portion of the material has been lent by County Administrator John McCarthy.
The library had a Fine Free Monday, April 14, in celebration of National Library Week, April 13-20. Mr. Shaffer reported that many long missing items were received. He reported that library statistics are still up in almost all areas and especially in the areas of audio cassettes and new materials. He was congratulated by the board for the excellent new materials which have been added to the library. Mr. Shaffer also took a tour of the new state library Friday.
In old business, Board Chair Roberta Anderson said that work on the disaster plan is still in progress. Also, that the library is looking for ways to donate the leftover books from the library sale.
