the Birds to receive the award, said, “When considering who in the 10th Congressional District deserved a lifetime achievement award for allegiance and service to the Democratic Party, there was no question that the recipients should be Lee and Diana.”
Schmidt added: “Lee and Diana are fundamentalists, they believe in the basics of our party and have always put their money, talents, energy, creativity and incredible intelligence, where their beliefs lie. We are blessed with the good fortune of having Lee and Diana Bird as neighbors and fellow Democrats.”
Their service continues with Lee serving on the executive committee of the RCDC as parliamentarian; Diana is Chairman of the Committee’s outreach group.
