The paving of the parking lot at the Rappahannock Library is tentatively scheduled for May 7, 8 and 9. Adverse weather conditions could delay the paving according to the Library Board which met last week to discuss the issue.
The library will be closed those days and will not accept books for return either as access to the parking lot will be impossible during paving. In the case of inclement weather residents should call the library at 6753780.
The library was originally going to close only May 5 and 6, but the Board felt an additional day might be needed for the pavement to cure and bad weather forced a delay.
The staff will use the time to complete the subject project, do computer maintenance and begin a weeding project.
Library Director Dave Shaffer reported that there will be a white bookcase located by the new book shelves which will display materials relating to the Rappahannock County Comprehensive Plan.
