money come through in our actions. Are these things that we want our children to practice when they are adults? Add to our value system, facts about money and the skills required to handle it (consumer awareness) and this becomes, for the most part, the knowledge that is put to use as children enter the market place.
There are resources available to parents for help. The book mentioned above gives excellent activities to use with children starting around the age of three through 12. The Federal Trade Commission and the National Association of Attorneys General has a publication called ‘The Real Deal.” In it, they try to help the country’s preteens smarten-up about the $16.7 billion they spend annually for food,
