3. The scholarship is generally awarded only one time to an eligible student.

The Committee is in the process of accepting applications. Applicants should submit an application together with an essay. Last year, the Committee awarded five $1,000 scholarship.

The deadline for scholarship applications is May 6, 2002. Applications should be mailed or delivered to the office of Douglas K. Baumgardner, The Miller Building, Porter and Main Street, Washington, Va.

Tickets for this year’s April 28 fund raiser may be purchased at the Rappahannock County Extension Office and are $50 per couple or $25 per person. Children under 12 will be admitted free of charge. The telephone number for the Rappahannock County Cooperative Extension Service is 675-3619. All citizens of Rappahannock County and the surrounding area are invited to attend this fund raiser.
