RCHS Senior Jessica Nawrocki recently won the WVPT-TV Young Hero Award. The award is based on academic performance as w’ell J»s civic and school involvement. RCHS Principal Joe Perine noted that she is an impressive young lady who is very deserving of this special honor. We are very proud of Jessica and this wonderful accomplishment.
• To keep the “Volunteer Fires” burning in Rappahannock, it is important that we instill in our children the importance of service at an early age. Our country is the great country that it is in large p^rt due to the selfless volunteer service of so many of our citizens. It is not a myth that volunteers get far more in return than they give!

• The “Kiss a Pig” contest at RCHS that will support a new darkroom for the proposed Photography Class at RCHS proved to be quite a success. Principal Joe Perine received the most votes and won (or lost, depending upon how you look at it!), and kissed a goat (the pig could not be caught) in the gym on Friday afternoon to the cheers of hundreds of students. If you would still like to make a donation to the darkroom fund, please see RCHS Art teacher Jov Judd-Sours as soon as possible or call her at 987-8575. Many thanks to Mr. Perine for being such a good sport in support of this wonderful project.
