“We’re very excited to have them at the races,” said Diane Jones, the Gold Cup Association’s executive director. “People have a huge interest in American history and this gives us an opportunity to see horses in a historical light.
“Also, with so much of the filming of ‘Gods and Generals,’ a prize-winning novel being made into a movie, taking place in the area, we’re even more interested in this,” Jones added.
