Pace drove on% deep into the Eagle net during the first half and that would be all the Panthers needed to record their third district win. As lightning filled the skies around Berryville Friday night, the game was called and the Panthers declared the victors. It was if the Soccer Gods had said, “This one was meant to be.”
The Junior Varsity Boys’ Team is still searching for a winning formula and some success on the offensive end of the field. They fell 6 to 0 against Brentsville on Tuesday and 4 to 0 against the JV team from Clarke on Friday, just prior to the varsity contest.
Meanwhile the girls were having a difficult time getting back on the winning path. The Lady Panthers were manhandled by the Lady Tigers from Brentsville on Tuesday, April 16. The score was 5 to 0 but it could have been a lot worst if not for the superior goal-tending efforts of junior Robyn Pivarnik. The young lady had over 30 saves as the Brentsville side pounded her with shots all afternoon. Fortunately only a handful got through.
