After serving his country during the Korean War, he served the Washington, D.C. area as a flooring contractor for more than 50 years.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Lois G. Saunders Dennis and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Dennis.
Survivors include a son, Carrol E. Dennis Jr. and his wife. Denette R. Adams of Williamstown, W.Va.; a grandson, Wavne B. Dennis of Amissville; two brothers, Robert Dennis and Edward Dennis, both of Warrenton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, April 17 at Marshall United Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur Rajanayakam officiating.
Burial followed at Marshall Cemetery.
Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.
