Please note that the
$283,000 budget includes
over $60,000 to manage the water system and a considerable amount to address capital improvements. When I became Mayor, the Town's general fund was about $100,000. Now it is $700,000 and has allowed us to begin work toward a wastewater system to ease the burden on the densely populated areas of the center of the Town and on a new reservoir to help with fire safety. Clearly, without our meals and lodging tax, we would not be able to consider these improvements, although in turn that industry’ will be a principal beneficiary of the new systems.
