Forbush
creates art
from heart

Call her a woman with a vision. Sandra Forbush will not demur.
The Flint Hill-based artist was selected to paint this year’s official Virginia Gold Cup promotional art. She created her work, “The Winner’s Circle,” from a variety of images — photographic, mental, and personal notes taken during a lifetime of work with horses.
“I’ve always wanted to paint ■> the official Gold Cup painting," Forbush said. “I never believed I would be asked. It is such an honor to produce a painting for this event.”
Forbush had previously . painted the official art for Great Meadow’s fall meet, the International Gold Cup, and other horse events — six times for the Upperville Colt and Horse Show, twice for the Middleburg Classic, once for the Foxfield Races, Atlanta Cup, Houston Polo, and once, a little out of the ordinary for the horsewoman, an elephant portrait for Front Royal’s Conservation Research Center.
