Biographical Sketch
I was bom in 1935 in West
Point, New York, but grew
up in Alexandria. I graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1958 and later obtained a PhD in physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I served in the Army for 25 years to include tours in Taiwan and Vietnam and was professor of physics at the Military Academy for sixteen years. I married Evelyn Miller of Washington in 1959 and, after retiring from the Army in 1983, we returned to Washington. I worked an additional 12 years for TRWT in Northern Virginia. My wife and I have a daughter in Charlottesville and a son in Richmond. Just before retiring from TRW I ran for Mayor of
