Livestock Exchange

John Gibson Heyl, 85, of The Plains, died July 11 at Fauquier Hospital.

He was a lifelong farmer and managed the Fauquier Livestock Exchange for more than 25 years.

Mr. Heyl was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Denzel and Nora Lee Thompson Heyl; a sister, Virginia Crawley; and a brother, Thomas Heyl.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Heyl; a son, John R. Heyl of Marshall; his first wife, Reva Heyl of Warrenton; two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Fauquier Livestock Exchange at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 23, followed by a covered dish supper for family and friends. Meat and drinks provided.
