During last months “Community Conversation on Aging,” School Superintendent Dr. Robert Chappell passed out a form to attending seniors.
The form invited seniors to fill out information about available housing opportunities for prospective teachers in the area.
This is one of many efforts going on in Rappahannock County to connect seniors with those seeking affordable housing in Rappahannock County.
“The idea was that the program was to encourage retired people to stay in the county with someone they could trust and support,” Chappell said.
The “Conversation” meetings, hosted by the Rappahannock Rapidan Eldercare Coalition and the Rappahannock County Eldercare team, was attended by Rappahannock residents interested in what can be done to make the county a supportive place for older adults.
