The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Culpeper Chapter # 73 were pleased to recently announce the winners of the 2006 Essay contest.
At a ceremony held at Cedar Run Baptist Church in Culpeper, Virginia the following students were honored for their winning essays.
Representing the grade 1-3 category was Christopher Payne. Christopher was presented with a $50 check for first place. No entries were received for the category of 4-6 grade. Representing the grade category 7-9 was Hunter Kapp who was presented with a $50 check for first place.
Tyler Burdick was awarded second place and presented with a $35 check and Austin Burdick was awarded third place and presented with a $25 check.
Emily Roop was presented the Reck/White scholarship in the amount of $500.
